The
Peoples Progressive Party of Nigeria notes with dismay the
decision of the Japanese government to take sanctions
measures against the DPRK independent of the UN sanctions
under the pretext of the H-bomb test and satellite launch of
the DPRK.
The
H-bomb test of the DPRK is clearly a self-defensive measure
and a deterrent against hostile foreign forces in order to
protect and guard the independence and national right to
life of the DPRK.
And
the satellite launch of the DPRK is the legitimate right of
any sovereign state as agreed by international law on the
peaceful use of aerospace.
Therefore,
the decision to place sanctions against the DPRK is
provocative and will have the adverse effect of escalating
the already dangerous situation in the Korean peninsula and
the regional security.
The
sanctions are unjustified and have nothing to do with the
actions the Korean government.
The
Peoples Progressives Party of Nigeria strongly condemns the
sanctions placed on the DPRK by the Japanese government; and
demands the immediate withdrawal of the unreasonable and
unjustified sanctions.
